What A Gift!

I don’t know about anyone else but I feel really emotional about the vaccines beginning today. It’s huge. It’s the start of things getting better. It’s momentous for science. It’s enormous for the NHS. It’s life changing for the country. It’s been a really tricky year for most and downright horrendous for some. We all have people we miss. We all have places we want to go. Some have endured unbearable circumstances. Some have lived in fear. Some have lost loved ones in a horrible manner. Some have lost people and had to grieve alone. So seeing the vaccines begin is incredible to me. I can only imagine how it feels to be a frontline NHS worker today. The relief must be huge. It’s going to take time. We have to be patient for just a bit longer but bloody hell folx, we’ve made it to the begging of the end (fingers crossed). Next Christmas will be different. Better. Bigger. I don’t want to go back to the old world as it was but I would like to see my family and for my kids to have those connections and a more normal childhood. They have no idea that today is a historic day and they probably won’t even remember when they’re older but it’ll be talked about in school in years to come. Science is f*cking cool.
P.s. Christmas related photo because nothing feels more Christmassy than this vaccine. It’s a gift.
